The Fen Edge Family Festival is run every year on the green at Cottenham and some years FEAG have held events there to encourage interest in local archaeology.
Please find attached a discussion of an excavation during the Fen Edge Family Festival 2013 that was partially open to the public to view and discuss with FEAG members taking part.
FEAG also had a stand at this event showing finds from our recent Roman era excavations.

In April 2011 FEAG held presentations on the progression made to date in the Twenty pence Project. This page contains the presentation given on the background research on Romano-British sites within the area.
Please download the pdf to read the presentation.
The Twenty Pence Project planning group decided that it might be useful to dig a trial test-pit on the site before the main dig in July so that we had a feel for how deep were the features that could be seen on the geophysics and how easily they could be seen. So Matt, Roger and I dug one trench 2 metres by 1 metre over a period of two days. Matt had selected a position which appeared to be over one of the features seen on the geophysics.
On Saturday 19th June 2010 the Fen Edge Archaeological Group held a skills training day for its members. The purpose of the event was for members to get experience and training in several archaeological techniques - small scale excavation, surveying and artefact drawing.
